Orientation July 2010

Hey everyone, how are you doing? I feel very stress now because my classes started today! Apparently many of my classmates are not very happy about the current timetable, so some of them planning to write an appeal letter to have some of our class change to other timing. This is one advantage of studying in Taylor's, if you have a majority not satisfied with a certain issue, things can be change. Taylor's are flexible to a certain extend, you just got to know which procedure to follow. Going to the management office and starting banging the table will not solve anything.

26 July 2010 was the orientation for many of our student in July intake. There were communication, computing, business, architecture and etc. The usual busy-body me will always participate in being a student helper, it's a very good way of meeting new people. No joke, I met AMAZINGLY CRAZY people just like me! (haha, self praise + self insult = damn dumb).

Preparation

 Mr. Albert giving briefing

I will have to say, that day was a huge group of freshmen.

Just look at the amount of people waiting outside before we open the MPH doors

The line was so long for some booth, it was crowded like so happening.

That is except my booth -_-"

Computing booth nobody, so empty! So not happening, I felt so sad.... I had to go out and call computing students in to register themselves inside.

Upon registration for orientation, you will receive Taylor's planner and your orientation schedule according to your course. Besides that, once you pick your seats, there will be orentation pack (Picture as below) waiting for you. Don't underestimate this package as it will help you through the first few blur weeks in Taylor's.

MPH is packed with students!

Now here comes the dull part, orientation will definitely comes with many speeches and talks. Hopefully, everyone flipped there attention ears out because there's a purpose for every word spoken from the each speaker.

Introducing an IP (Important Person), Vice President of Institution Marketing of Taylor's University College.
Mr Loy Teik Inn *virtual applause*
He gives a speech in most of the events happening in Taylor's. Do say hi to him if you walk pass him.

Oh, one of the talk was given by LASC or Learning Centre. The best part about this talk was that there were food involved! He was giving out Nature Valley and Kit Kat, great for those who missed their breakfast.

After all the talks, students were segregated according to their courses for a more in-depth talk about their course. It will give you a general idea of what you can expect out of your course of choice.

Computing students meet up in a small lecture theater

While many others were brought to Big lecture theater and experimental theater!

After all the long talks and briefing and speeches, it's time for ID Photo session and Campus Tour!

It is so funny, I just realized that the picture on the monitor was not the person sitting in front of the camera. No worries yeah, your ID won't turn out to be a different gender, Kak Rose (person in charged) haven't set  new picture for the guy yet.BTW, SMILE because it will be on your ID for as long as you are a Taylor's student. No retake for continuting student!

Campus Tour for pictures below:

Even after a long day, I still have time to get some random pictures.

Some of the Communication Lecturer.
They are the most WONDERFUL and the BOMB lecturers you will get in your entire life!

Of course, not to forget the ritual Orientation Party held every Intake by the Student Council.
I didn't go though, wonder how it went?

Camera man for that day. Note: all these pictures are my own!

Last but not least, my other fellow student helper!
Not everyone was in the picture.

That's all for Orientation July 2010!

However, you see those Vitagen packages in the last picture? Hehe, it's a sneak peak for my next post! Stay tuned.
