being a bit narcissist.

Hey all,

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

So as you know, I had my Mirror's finals some time back. Just so you know, I had a great time even though I did not win. It's a great experience and great to help start building my portfolio! Of course also, the goodies. Hehe. I am still on break, looking for part time jobs relating to Fashion/ Entertainment/ Journalism opportunities. If you have one, let me know! Other than that, I'm spending my time at home, family, friends and love ones. Also, getting my hands on my new cooking and baking skill. I baked Heaven fully just chocolate chip cookies (nigella's recipe :P) for friends and family and cooked bacon carbonara and meatballs bolognese speghetti for Christmas Gathering. Awesome! Next up, I will be trying Caremel Croissant Pudding and Molten Lava Cake. hehe. Sounds delicious already.

Honestly, this is definitely not what I do every holidays. I usually work full time somewhere in this world and I mean literally 9-6 job. For me to take a step back this semester break and relax is something new and out of the ordinary. Also, for heaven sakes, I don't cook or bake, everyone knows that! I am definitely venturing out and being adventurous on trying new things.

and everybody loves my new hair cut!

That's all for now folks!
Heartz!

Taylor's Open Day!

Taylor's University had an Open Day on the 17th, 18th and 19th December 2010. Everyone including the student helpers were all so excited for our first Christmas theme open day! There were nicely decorated Christmas trees, stockings, presents, hanging stars and etc!

When you first walk to the MPH, you will be greeted by a bunch of smiley student helpers. They will guide you in to the right booth.
Aren't they cute with their Santa hats. Haha, student helpers looked like elf.

We have booths of all different courses.

We had lecturers and counselors to help you with all the information you need.

Outside, we have some interesting booths like candy making demonstration and some explanation on trusting labels in Vitamin C. They are from our school of Bioscience.

Some of our visitors even had their basic health check at out medical booth.

Testing the amount of pressure needed to crush a pill.

Admission booths are constantly busy as well.

You can even take a career test if you are unsure of what to do for your future.
Haha, guess how did I fair?

29 Aritistic, 21 social and 3 enterprising. My top 3. The counselor says that I have nothing to worry because it is obvious that I am in the right course! hahaha!

and Oh! On the first day of open day, Starbucks in Taylor's branch offered free coffee!
Anyone get to collect the free coffee before noon. :)

On the second and third day, we had HOT AIR BALLOON!
Hahaha! So cool right!
I took the opportunity to have my first ride.

Happy student helpers ready to serve!

These are my amazing student ambassadors!

It's December yo! Clubs and society

Hey all,

Seriously, you don't know how much I miss this blog! LITERALLY! I have been busy with assignments, college, mirror's activity, volleyball, Christian fellowship club and etc. Little update on me before I move on, Yes, I am on semester break now for 3 months! Sweet! Some of you may say, 'What! Break for so long?!'. Well, A, yes it is fun but B, it is because my UNISA Communication and media management programme follows the system in Australia. I think they are having their summer break if I am not mistaken. Malaysia 365 days summer, mad hot! There are some of my friends love the weather though because they do not prefer to be in a cold place. Currently bumming around because I can't commit to a full time work or internship due to Mirror's. I am in Top 10! Thank you all for voting! The finals is on the 16 dec 2010 at mist club bangsar, invitation only. You can either buy the ticket at Rm50 (freak expensive) or write in to mirrors in a chance to win 1 pair of tickets! Also, if there is any part time job offers out there, do contact me and I will get back to you asap.

Some of my friends ask me 'Why are you still in college, aren't you having your break?' Well, I do go back to Taylor' Lakeside on and off due to few reasons like attending events, clubs meeting, help to do some data-entry as a side income, and especially volleyball. It takes up most of my time due to practices for upcoming tournament on the 4th & 5th December 2010 at Cyberjaya. As well, BIG NEWS, for sports winning team for the MAPCU event (which happened sometime ago, check archives), we are all going to Singapore for a friendly match! It will be happening this coming 17th, 18th and 19th December 2010. Everything is provided by the college. As much as everyone keep saying Taylor's is 'kiam siap' (stingy), they do appreciate your hard work as well.We had a small Sports Award Day recently, I will see if I can get some pictures to be put up.

Recently, I've got back on my feet for Salsa classes through Taylor's Latin Dance Club. Don't laugh! It is a very fun class ok! I joined the club in 2008 but somehow took a break in 2009. It may be a small group of us but I assure you that if latin is your thing, you should try dancing! Many students kept complaining that 'I don't have much friends in college, people are cold to me, I can't socialize well, or even my group of friends are just people that I have the same class with.' Wonder why? It is because you don't try. Don't always expect people to come to you, be bold and put on a daring face to innitiate conversation with others. I'm sure they will appreciate you for talking to them.

I wanted to show you videos of our salsa class but it is in Facebook so I can't embed it here but click on the pictures for the video.

In Taylor's lakeside campus, we have about 60+ clubs and society. A huge rage from Accounting club, Beatbox club, Chinese society, Indian Society, International student society, Go-kart racing club, K-gen club (Korean generation), Anime society and so much more! Don't think any of the 60+ clubs suites you? No problem, set up a new club! Get you team and get going! Recruit people and meet new friends! We don't just concentrate on academics but we want to be an all rounder. These clubs can help improve and enhance you skills as well you could even pick up new skills along the way.
