I do hope that they are going to show us more about places that they offering for the students to travel so that we can expect what is coming for us when we decide to be apart of this great opportunity! :D Also, I do hope to be able to see some pictures of what others have experience. I'm going to show you some of the places my friends have been with AIESEC and the things that they did.

Friend #1 Serene
One of the closest friend I had for 3 years since Foundation in Taylor's. She joined AIESEC for a trip to Thailand to teach English to students there. She went during our summer break in 2010/2011. Other than just teaching, this pretty young lady travelled around Thailand and immersed herself with the wonderful Thai culture. Thailand may be near to Malaysia but we don't know what is going on there until we truly experience it ourself. Her motto after this fabulous trip 'Differences aside, togetherness through English'

These are the students that she had and trust be for the few months there, a bond was created and she misses them a lot.

The people that where just like her, take the risk and explore new places!

So will do take a chance and do something great?

Taylor's Career & Employment Fair 2012

Call me 'kiasu' but I'm hoping to win something out of this! *fingers crossed*

I totally got sucked into this Golden Ticket Contest where just by being active and participate in the coming Taylor's Career & Employment Fair 2012. Of course the contest is only for Taylor's students but the fair is open to public. Look at the flyer below for details and for further details, do visit www.taylors.edu.my.

There's about 68 participating prestigious companies from diverse industries to meet and recruit Taylor's students! I'm so excited, this is just so related to me now.

But to be in the running of the Golden ticket, there are some work needed to be done. We were asked to attend at least of the preparation workshops to attain workshop stamp.

Then, we need to fill up these question where you only can get the answers when you are in the fair itself. The worst part is coming up with a slogan, definitely not my forte, I'm terrible at slogans. Can any one help me? Lols.

Hehe, let's see what happens. I will update you on the event soon. :D Oh god, talking about this, I need to get my resume prepared!

Other than that, Taylor's will also be having a One Day WOW Experience for you!

Preparing me to meet the Working World!

As the Taylor's Career and Employment Fair 2012 is getting closer, they had a few workshops going on specially for those who wants to learn more on how you can get The Dream Job . Some of you might know, I'm graduating in 5 months time and I am definitely looking for a god place to intern and a great place to work.

Obviously, you will need a good resume before everything else. So important! If your resume & cover letter is sucky, you don't even get short-listed for the interview because you are not the only applicant for the job. Honestly, I never written a resume in my entire life, even when I have been working part-time or interning out there. This time, I can't run anymore, its time to grow up and intern somewhere I have never thought I would be in. Hopefully, good money too! :p

So I attended the talk by our very own staff from Taylor's Career Centre. They not only prepare us with resume review and mock-up interview but also if needed, help us to get a job.

After polishing your resume who knows, you got the Interview! You've got to prepare yourself and dress to impress! First impression is very important, make sure that you dress appropriately for your job.

The talk was given by Miss Jo from Avante PR.

It was a 2 hours talk, I was sleepy that day as I did not have enough sleep trying to get part of my assignments done. However, the talk was beneficial to all of us. :)

My IFTP work

One of my subject in Unisa CMM is IFTP (Intro to film, tv and production), this is more towards the broadcasting and production side. More practical, yes because it is literally all hands on work. PAPERWORK! Over the whole 3 months of lectures and tutorials, 80% paperwork for pre-planning, 10% coming up with ideas, 10% shooting and editing videos.

This is the final product.

Things that you need to do for this assignment. (pre-planning)

My script!

My storyboard, don't judge! I have friends that draws worst than me. Then again I have friends that draws magnificently. :(

Recce Sheet
Floor Plan
Shooting Schedule
Call Sheets
Logging Sheet (only shown here page 1/6)

So this is what I do for my IFTP subject. It takes a lot of work to be in broadcasting and production line. As people say, the hard work is on the pre-planning side of the production, is not just shoot with an idea. The pre-planning work was tedious and time consuming. NOT FUN AT ALL! and I got a Distinction for this subject :p

I felt like dying that 5th semester but somewhat, now, when I am taking Communication and Organisation (CNO) and Creative Industry Ethics (CIE). Looking back, it wasn't that bad at all. Well, it gets tougher every semester!

Bonjour Semaine Française

Hello French Week!

Taylor's School of Hospitality, Tourism and Culinary Arts brings you a tour around France! Let me walk you through this journey where you'll see some of the most important building or statue around France.

I assumed it is part of their assessment where in some ways helps them to practice their French Language and know more about this Beautiful country. Do you know TCHT students get the opportunity to do internship in France?! *#%$! I ENVY!!! Sometimes, they even organize a trip to France!!!! Double Envy!

Of course, how can we forget about the food?

Happily they pose for the camera!!!
