I Jog for HOPE

Yes, It's true, I did it!!! 6km mini marathon at Taylor's Sri Hartamas on the 18 July 2010! Though, I was disappointed in myself for not jogging the whole way through, my stamina was not up to the standard yet. As this was my first marathon, 6km felt really far. However, I completed it in approximately 40-45 minute, was up to my expectation. Hooray... clap hands...

I went with other two friends. Wei ling and Mei ting from ADP Taylor's Subang.

Weiling and I

Meiting and I

Free Jog for Hope T-shirts! Many changed into the shirt for the jog but I particularly do not like to sweat in a white shirt unless it is specially for sports.

There were seriously a lots of people! This registration counter were for those whom register on the spot.

and this were the other counter behind the registration counter for pre registered  participants. Personally, I like this system. So that those pre register don't have to wait at the back of the line so long for the new people to register. Is like you have a direct access to a concert, you don't need to wait in line to go in.

Bag deposit area was great too. I don't think I have heard anything lost so far, my stuff was fairly secured and there where no mixing up bags and mistakes. Everything was very organized and in order.

My friends and I reached Hartamas on time even though we have no idea where is the place. Thanks to Sean and Kaven giving me directions the night before the run, somehow, with God's grace, I manage to find the way. We were given our shirt and numbers, a short warm up session was held too. I was really hungry that morning because I thought that they will be providing light breakfast, too bad for me, there were no traces of food for participants at all! I wanted to buy yogurt from the vending machine but it doesn't want to drop my yogurt. Worst part is that the refund money button was spoiled! So, my friend picked milk to drink as that button was available to be pushed. I was so sad... No food.... No yogurt...

Even though we were on time, I guess it was still considered early. We explored around Hartamas campus as it was my first time visiting that campus.

Communication, too long to be taken with.
It is kind of cool, really. I love how the walls have variety of words, sentence and inspiring statements.

My friend and I started with walking just to warm our body up. At the same time, I am sorry but I just have to say this, I was keeping my eyes on pretty chicks and hot hunks! To my surprise, trust me, there where plenty! Hehe, sorry, ran out of the topic. Anyways, Weiling and I jogged first, leaving Meiting behind. After about 2 and half KM, I could not keep up with Weiling anymore. I just had to walk for a while. So she Ditched me! (hehe, no la, who call I slow and lousy). Every KM there will be a water station and at the 3rd KM, we were required to collect a rubber band from the checkpoint. It was quite funny because it seems like everybody was just following where everybody was running, I know I don't have a clue which road am I suppose to run and all. I just follow the crowd, they go left, I go left, they go right, I go right.

Run run run.... walk walk walk... jog jog jog.... Finally......

We finished with a cert and goodies bag! My favourite part of all. hahaha.

Hahaha, we purposely took the photo in front of nice cars.

I just want to shout out:
GOOD JOB TREE HUGGERS, IT WAS A SUCCESSFUL EVENT!

Away notice

hello all you amazing ppl,

Dropping a post stating that I will be away for Pulau Perhentian with my fellow college mates for 4 days! Also, I will be going for the Jog For Hope that Taylor's is organizing in Hartamas tomorrow (18 July 2010). I am challenging myself for a 6km run. It may be easy-peesy for some of you athletes out there but NOT for ME. I tried jogging on the treadmill today and only lasted for 2km. So lousy right!

By the way, this is a charity event for PAWS. Check their blog here. Just so you know, I was sponsored to Jog. I was too broke to pay RM 20 but I am willing to jog. So Kaven Kan contributed in Cash form while I Run. TQ Kaven. Hehehe, looks like I am a charity case too.

I may not have the chance to snap pictures during the race so if any of you have photos of the Jog, do let me know! If you see me tomorrow, say Hi yeah, I don't Bite.

Chiao!

Every 31st will be Baskin Robin's happy day, hopefully their pink day promotion will still be on after the opening, I will make sure I wear pink every Wednesday! No need to go pyramid for ice cream anymore! I am not sure how famous will Famous Amos be in Taylor's. Mian Tui Mian serves some awesome mee! The rest I will try once it is open. hehehehe. The only disappointment is to not see Maybank on the list. Argh....Frustrated! I need to go place a complain to Taylor's Student Council, they have been doing an awesome job so far.

These are some of the confirmed outlets. I assume that there will be more. I really would like to have a tour of the whole commercial building during its opening ceremony!

Oh oh, PS: the new drop off location will be active on the 15 July 2010. I am still blur about the whole new road and junction thing. While I was on my way for volleyball in college, I saw some tents around the new drop off area. I am really not sure what are those for, could it be specially made for the students? I shall go dig some information out around Taylor's soon then report back here! Stay Tuned!

    Go TUC!

Excellence through Sports! hmmm, not sure about that but what I do know is that both Netball and Volleyball female team won champion in the recent Intercollege Tournament!

I am with the volleyball team and it was the MAPCU event. It was held in Nottingham University which was really an impresive place. It was beautiful with the hills and mountains view, how can you complain studying there? Too bad, we did not have the chance to walk around the campus for pictures. Give thanks to Sam Tan for the awesome pictures with his DSLR.

The whole team with the coach in the center.

The whole team really worked together and do our best while in the game. Every squad wants victory, it was a real blessing to have the opportunity of getting a good coach and a few really good players to represent Taylor's in this sporting event.

No joke, we only practiced and got coaching a month before the game. It is more convenient now that we can practice in Taylor's Lakeside court. There are four courts in total but I assume that all the courts are multipurpose. For example, basketball court can be used as volleyball and dodgeball court. Futsal can be used as netball court too. Not to forget tennis court. All we got to do is to book the court with the ECA deparment. No worries about cost and etc.

It is great to see that we can all get along well with each other. Sure, at the beginning, we were all a bit distance and shy but thank God that wall was broken even before the competition! I truly believe that the best way to meet new people is through clubs and society. Extra-curriculum don't do you harm but it do you good. It is a healthy way of socializing and networking.

I didn't know that they are all as crazy as I am when I first met them.
It is fun when you need teamwork in sports.
    You are not alone!

Yup, we just love our team.
By the way, can you see the beautiful background?

    The victory run.

    The guys team.
Haha, so cool right their posing.
Thanks for the support to the girls team!

    The girls team.
    Hearts!

By the way, the after effect of this competition is SUNBURN + SKIN PEELING! I am still recovering. We are having a BBQ tomorrow night at the girl's captain place, MJ's house. Bonding Time! Plus, the girls will be sleeping over. More Bonding Time!
