Convo + Engineering fair. Double Happiness!

Don't you think is just the happiest thing to watch graduation, students final time stepping in their campus compound, smiling while pictures were taken and adding the cherry on the cake is the moment when they throw their hats up to the air. Defying gravity, they can do it all!

I am sure students are so proud of their final work being evaluated and showcase to the people. The satisfactory just amazing. Let's congratulate them for their hard work!

7 Reason to do Foundations @ Taylor's University

I started of with Foundation in Communication and I never regretted taking this course that led me to my 3 years degree course in Communication and Media Management. I am almost at the end of my journey as a University student and just like any other young adults, it is exciting yet anxious about what's next in our life. It is the same emotions experienced when you were about to step into the Life Of A University Student. The feeling of growing up and slight freedom seemed closer. No more Uniforms, no more strict rules, you were finally on your own.

I did enjoy my Foundation years very much due to good groups of friend and the July batch of classmates was just awesome. The best part is that I don't have to take some random subject that doesn't relate to what I want to do in the future.

I found these 7 reasons to do foundation at Taylor's here, so I just thought of sharing it with you.

Enjoy a Direct Pathway
The foundation programmes provide a direct bridge into top notch undergraduate studies at Taylor's. Upon successful completion of a foundation programme, you are assured of a place in your degree programme of choice*. So whether you desire a career in architecture, computer science, design, medicine or another field, Taylor's foundation provides a clear pathway to follow and lays the groundwork for you to attain your educational and career goals.
*Additional selection criteria may apply to specific degree programmes, such as Medicine and Pharmacy.

University Faculty Management
Each foundation is managed by faculty of the respective schools and they have the freedom to incorporate the latest developments in undergraduate theories. Since the curriculum is designed by the individual schools, each one has direct control of students' progression into the various undergraduate degree programmes and the responsibility to set and maintain academic quality.

Exposure to Discipline-Specific Subjects
The curriculum of each foundation programme includes subjects that are related to that particular field of study to give you essential fundamentals and expose you to your field of interest from early on. For example, a student interested in a business administration degree studies beyond general subjects like accounting and economics; they also explore areas, such as enterprise, quantitative techniques and organisational behaviour.

Learn through Discovery
You are guaranteed a hands-on learning environment. Classes promote two-way interaction and sharing of knowledge and resources among students and faculty. You will gain a deeper understanding of what you are learning through real-life simulations, out-of-classroom field and study trips, interaction with working professionals and participation in competitions. Through Project-Based Learning, you are challenged to enhance problem solving skills and become an independent learner.

Benefit from a Student Support System
Through First Year Experience (FYE) initiatives, you gain the much needed support to adjust well to university life and be successful in both academic and extra-curricular activities. The initiatives, ranging from motivational talks to peer-assisted study sessions and surveys, focus on helping you adapt to the university's intellectual and social environment; stimulate excitement in learning; facilitate the understanding of diversity issues; and give you valuable skills that will last a lifetime.

Learn from Highly Qualified Faculty
Foundation programmes are taught by dedicated full-time academicians with a range of expertise. They prioritise your needs and are experienced in harnessing your full potential to help you achieve your goals. You also have the added advantage of learning from degree-level lecturers, who have extensive professional and/or academic experience.

Undergo Continuous Assessment
Continuous assessment is practiced throughout the duration of study in all programmes. You are graded through a combination of examinations, assignments, projects and quizzes each semester. This enables you to track your progress and performance, as well as make necessary improvements throughout the learning process.

Not only communication have a foundation course, in Taylor's, they have a wide range of foundation course offered.

'Outstanding' rating on MyQuest

Taylor's College Subang Jaya receives MyQUEST certificate.

Only three out of 210 private colleges were awarded the ‘Tier 6: Outstanding’ rating

Subang Jaya: Taylor’s College, one of Malaysia’s oldest and most established private institutions of higher learning, was awarded the highest rating of 'Tier 6: Outstanding' in the College-Based Category on the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQUEST) 2010/2011, by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia (MOHE). In addition, the College also achieved a 6-star rating in another two cluster-based categories, namely ‘General Programmes’ and ‘International Students’.
With a rich heritage spanning over 42 years, Taylor’s College has played a significant role in shaping the nation’s education landscape and the development of the youth of the world to take their productive place as leaders in the global community.
“We are truly honoured to have been awarded the highest rating of 'Tier 6: Outstanding', in the Malaysian Quality Evaluation System for Private Colleges (MyQUEST) 2010/2011, by the Ministry of Higher Education. This award is a feather in our cap and a seal of excellence on the quality of our pre-university education,” said Mr Lim Tou Boon, President of Taylor’s College.
MyQuest 2010/2011 measures the quality of a private college according to its ‘Input’ (quality of students and resources), ‘Output’ (programme recognition and graduate recognition), and the Quality Management System of the college.
Under the certification, Malaysia’s private colleges are classified into six tiers, namely Tier 6 (Outstanding), Tier 5 (Excellent), Tier 4 (Very Good), Tier 3 (Good), Tier 2 (Satisfactory) and Tier 1 (Poor).
Out of a total of 210 private colleges in Malaysia that were audited, only three or 1.4% of the colleges managed to attain the six-star rating, while 20 colleges (9.5%) attained a five-star rating, and 60 (28.6%) attained four stars.

Have you heard of AIESEC?

Everytime when there is a recruitment drive, I will hear students calling 'JOIN AIESEC!' This group of people must be very 'gang ho' in their society.

I am sure most of you have already heard about AIESEC as they are a very big organisation not only in Malaysia but also internationally. AIESEC is the world's largest youth-run leadership organisation and it has over 60 years of experience in developing high potential youths into global minded responsible leaders.

I asked a few of my friends who joined AIESEC and they agree that this programme gives a life-changing experience to each of their members as what they do provide an impact to the society.

They mainly focus on 5 categories of projects such as HIV/AIDS, teach a language, environment sustainability, cultural understanding and social development. Students will work with NGOs, schools or even charities on the front line! The duration of the project ranges from 6-12 weeks.

Such an amazing organisation and for a good cause as well as perfect for building good character in students. Of course, Taylor's will not miss out on this!

Introducing the Global Community Development Program.
What is it?
Interns (participants) can CHOOSE WHICHEVER countries (where AIESEC exists) they want to go under, WHICHEVER projects that they are interested in. It is not only about contributing back to the society but also the opportunity to see the world from the eyes of a local, experience a journey of immense soul searching and discover a greater potential within you! It's not all about work, they assure enjoyable, fun-filled experience!
