Frankenstein Complex

The other day I felt like logging into BB6 after almost 2 months since I last time actually been there. But then, I forgotten the URL sorry lar my brain has deteriorated in the past 2 months. So I went to google it and I found this:



It gave me this strange video, which was submitted by someone with the pseudonym taylorstlc. Upon further inspections, a grand total of 56 (FIFTY SIX, not FIVE-SIX) videos was uploaded to teach students how to use BB6. And upon even further inspections, a blog which was operated by one Miss Nor linked all the videos. -___-

When I found it out, all I can said was, "Sai em sai ar?" (Translation: Do we really need it?)


This simply shows technology is taking over our lives. Despite blogging is the current phenomenon, I think it's way too outrageous and ridiculous to purposely create a blog just for such purpose. Yes, the methods were used to help the students but do we actually need one when it is a simple task of how to login to BB6?

I mean, technology means progress because with technology, our daily lives have definitely become better and easier. But then again, if technology could be used to teach students such an easy task, who is to say technology cannot replace the lecturers in the future?

I would hope that it is only a joke, because it will be like insulting the intelligence and capabilities of the students to require videos to learn such an easy task. Well, at least I feel that way. I mean, Taylorians paid top dollars ringgit to study in Taylor's to learn from the lecturers, not from videos.

Isn't that right? And hopefully they don't cancel my enrollment for bashing them

Last Year's Regret

Year 2007 is definitely a great year for me. Of course, although it was a great year in most of the aspects, I still regretted a few things.


For instance, the [molecular] Gastronomy.

Firstly, if you're wondering, it’s not a Science fair about molecular. Secondly, it’s not the study of gas. Thirdly, it’s not the study of astronomy as well. If you can't read the fine details stated, it's a 20-course Asian molecular gastronomy dinner. If you still cannot figure it out, here's a definition provided by Taylor's School of Hospitality and Tourism:

Molecular Gastronomy is a sensation sweeping through the culinary world, especially in Europe. The term, coined in the late 1980s by French scientist Herve This and English physicist Nicholas Kurti, refers to the application of physics, chemistry and biology to all things culinary. In short, it is the science of cooking as opposed to the science of food. That makes it good for inspiring novelty and great at exploding myths.

Although frankly the only part I understand about the whole gastronomy thing is that it's food. For more information, please google about it yourself. :)

"I want my fish this big"
The molecular gastronomy dinner was held on the 17th of November 2007 at L’escoffier Restaurant in Taylor’s School of Hospitality and Tourism. And like last time, the whole dinner was prepared by students, except it's much higher class than the last time as only students with Higher Diploma in Hotel Management Students and specialized in Culinary Arts and Food & Beverage Management can take part.

Just when I thought if you can turn on the gas and cook an egg then you can become a chef. -__-


Don't ask me because I don't know if the food tasted nice or not and if the waitresses were as hot as said or not. Although my imagination keeps telling me those who went for the dinner were lab mouse so the students can enhance themselves, I'm sure they did pretty well since these photos could be sent to me by Miss Kaven and Co. safely and some VVVVVVIP of Taylor's (which I will never know or meet) didn't get reported in The Star newspaper suffering from food poisoning. XD

Which is why Ferran Adrià would be proud of them. I think.

Anyway, by now you might be wondering why the heck I'm blogging about it. Well, it was very simple. I was ACTUALLY for once being invited to a dinner and ACTUALLY for once needed to dress nice to a dinner. ^.^

Miss Kaven
Miss Kaven invited me to it just before the semester was ended. Despite her generosity to invite me, of all students of Taylor's University College, I rejected it because I would be at my hometown by then and it's not like everyday I get to stay there for 3.5 months. That is why.

But now I think back, on the 17th of November, I was having this for dinner.


A dinner consisted of Ayam Goreng McD™, 1 regular Coke, 1 French fries and 6 pieces of Chicken McNuggets™ which cost me around RM15. But if I was wiser, I could be eating this instead.

"So what's the big deal? It's just a leaf, taufu and another leaf what! Or is it?" you might say. But then, you need to know that I was actually invited. Which means I can eat it for free. Which means I can eat, if you read every single fine details of the poster, a 20-course Asian molecular gastronomy dinner which costs a whooping hefty RM150 for free. O_O

Now, go to 'Accessories' and click the 'Calculator' tool. If you divide RM150 with the amount I paid for McDonald's, that's almost 10 times the price I paid for what I ate that night! With that price I can eat for 3 whole days plus supper! It's the worth of 20 pieces of chicken, 10 cups of Coke, 1000 pieces of fries and 60 nuggets wei! o.O


And if that's not enough, you might be unlucky like me to stumble across a blogger who was there too and described the whole dinner in such details that keep alluring me to the extent I cannot stop my saliva from drooling all over the keyboard.

If you want to laugh at me for choosing the wrong choice, do it later. For now, I want to bang my head against my wall, which shall be done immediately after this entry is published. Bye.

Taylor's Sex Scandal

To be frank, I was half-expecting that kind of first time, but I was proven wrong. Nuffnang Featured Blogger for October 2007 was actually at there to give her first time in writing her first blog advertorial. Well, it was a good news since we won't be having a Malaysia version of Jamie Lynn Spears but I still left disappointed about it. Next time don't use such lines like "I gave my first time..." to entice me can or not? Oh yeah, the title of this entry is to entice you. So do tell me if I successfully lure you to here, ok? XD

Anyway, so I was reading the redonkulous long entry, which I'm serious impressed by it, until I stumbled across her review on the library.


About Tan Sri Loy Hean Heong Library, she amazingly summarised everything she thinks you need to know in 144 words. I seriously doubt that since it's definitely more than that. How about Taylor's iPortal, which allows students to do book transactions online? Or how about the crazy librarian who likes to bully the students (refer to the entry on 15 August 2007)?

Now, this is why Taylor's should always find an insider like *ahem* me and pay me the same amount of money that they are paying her to blog about them. If she can wrote 144 words about it, I'm sure I can write 145 words. I mean, I don't think she will actually know there's such book in this library.

And although I'm not sure if what she said about already gave her first time to a human being is true or not, but if it's untrue, at least now she knows where she can get an useful book about the topic to prepare for the future. :)

Jack O' Melon

Remember the watermelon I blogged about in A Walk in the Walk?

Yeah, the watermelon which someone highly admires it to the extent of dedicating an entire entry, which has a lot of corny lines like "Even a watermelon can smile. Why make yourself depress?" Now that's one thing which is creepier than the melon. :P

Anyway, I was surfing the blogosphere the other day and guess what I found.

But the shocking part of this story is not about an army of melons (plus pumpkins and honeydews) trying to terrorize the ninth life out of a cat. It is that it is carved by Mike, an ex-Taylorian and my senior if I'm not mistaken but who can blame me since it's been 8 freakin' long months since I first and last met him.

In case you forgotten (or you haven't been to my other blog), this is Mike.

Xena the Warrior Princess

Recently, Kimberley Chai Wan Xian from Taylor's made the headline and luckily, for the right reason. XD


LOOK AT THE SIZE OF HER ARMS. O__O

And her arms she didn't go unnoticed as she was featured in Muscle Wave, a blog which worships Chyna as they highlights women with brawn, weirdly. But heck, this proves that women are more superior than men Seng Foo will never go after her Taylor's does not only produce nerds with dark-rimmed glasses. :P

Same Same But Different

When I blogged about Taylor's Walk the other day, I went to the Taylor's website to get more information to blog about it.

And the very next minute, out of pure coincidence and luck and you-get-the-idea, I ter-click the homepage to open again in another page. Suddenly, it became this:

OH MY GOD.

Talk about efficient, it was barely a minute! Man, I got to be the only guy in this world to have both old and new look of Taylor's website to open at the same time (asides perhaps the Taylor's staffs of course). I'm so proud of myself. *Proud* XD

A Walk in the Walk

It is either great minds think alike, or Miss Tho Xin Yi travel into year 2050 to read this blog and come back to write about it.

I actually would have blogged about the Taylor's Walk quite a while ago, if not because of the lousy connection in Ipoh. Now that she beats me to it, I would have to edit my draft and cite her work or I would be deemed of implying her written work into my own work without her acknowledgment much like the case of the not-so-thin guy.

Although I'm pretty sure I don't get any information from her (I think).


To begin, I went back to the main campus the other day to catch a glimpse of the walkway. I want to see it with my own eyes how a RM125,000 above the half million ringgit mark (that's RM625,000 to you) investment would benefits the students, staffs, animals and society.

Well, that's what I would want to say, but the fact is I actually went there because I was damn free after handing all assignments. *Laughing sinisterly at STPM students* XD

But still, here's my two cents about the walkway.

I got nothing better to do
Firstly, students can jump ala SmashpOp due to the huge space available. Or better, students can conduct their activities like smoking and drug-trafficking safely without worrying about getting hit by cars.


Secondly, giant pandas can safely eat all the bamboos available at the walkway without worrying about getting hit by cars.

Please don't say we look similar
Thirdly, it got a watermelon, although I don't know how it fits into our topic. But still, no need to worry about getting hit by cars! XD

Ok, enough of getting hit by cars I have to, because you guys would kill me if I continue. Let's see this walkway from a more serious point of view. Forget about the story that it increases the traffic flow. The problem is still there and always will be. So I rather look at another feature of the walkway, which was as reported by Tho (2007), the police beat base.

According to Tho (2007), which is actually according to Subang Jaya OCPD ACP Zainal Rashid Abu Bakar, the police beat base was built to enhance the security around the area as the crime rate is pretty high. With only above-average families can afford the fees studying in Taylor's, I would be surprised if there is no crime at all. But that's a topic for another day. :P

I don't disagree with the statement regarding the crime rate, as I have heard of a lot of crimes happening in this area, most notably my friend punya friend who was a victim of the silliest robbery in the world (refer to the entry on April 12, 2006). Seriously, I didn't know that we can engaged a parley/negotiation with the robbers to exchange a laptop for, of all things from apple to zebra, a handphone and escape unharmed. -___-

With the police around, hopefully such silly robbery by the robbers (but lucky escape by the victim) would never happen again. But then again, it is the police from our country we are talking about. You know, the Malaysian police which has over 250 videos related to them regardless good or bad but mostly bad on Youtube as by November 20, 2007.
